Frequently Asked Questions

I have my usual therapist or trainer but I am wanting a second opinion in recommended management. Is this something that you can do for me?

Yes, there are many many wonderful practitioners out there, in which you may already have a good relationship with. If you would purely like a second set of eyes to look over your injury, then I can certainly assist you to formulate a treatment plan.

If you are purely looking at implementing the principles of TIHC course to supplement your existing therapy, then please reach out to me, as TIHC can certainly be completed without requiring my physiotherapy input.

How many treatments do you expect me to need?

A treatment plan can be formulated at your initial consultation, and this will vary depending on your goals, as well as the complexity and the length of time that you have had your injury.

What length should I book for my first Physiotherapy Consultation?

As a majority of the injuries that I treat often have an overlap of a few different areas of the body, it is advised that your initial consultation is at least 45mins long. Follow up appointments may be shorter, depending on the nature of your injury. This will be discussed at the time of your initial consultation.

Do you accept Work Cover / TAC clients?

I am currently not accepting Work Cover or TAC clients. Check back in, as this may change at a later date.

Do you accept Medicare EPC Care Plans?

Yes. However, I charge my normal fees for ALL consultations. Full payment for your consultation is required on the day of your appointment, and your rebate is processed through Medicare on the spot. You can expect your rebate (usually $56) from Medicare by the next business day.

Please note: You care plan needs to be emailed to chloe@tihc.com.au prior to your consultation so that data can be entered into our system prior to your appointment to allow on the spot claiming. If we do not receive your plan 24hours prior to your appointment, there will be a delay in processing your rebate.

I see that Meditation is a part of TIHC and I don’t feel that this is a good fit for me, should I persist?

Yes. You never know until you try. Even if you are struggling to find space between your thoughts, the practice alone of pausing, is beneficial in itself. Healing does not necessarily have to come from meditation, the magic is in the self reflection which is supported in a number of different formats throughout the course.

Yes. There are different options for support as you complete The Injury Healing Code. Please reach out to me, with what support level you feel you may require and we can discuss the best option.

If I am not seeing you for physiotherapy, is it of benefit to complete The Injury Healing Code?

Yes. Absolutely. If you are thirsty for growth, to learn to understand yourself, your mindset and thought patterns and how they have been impacting you with your injury and recovery, then I absolutely recommend delving into these Modules. If you are unsure of what modules are best for you, then please reach out and I am happy to discuss which Modules would be best suited to you.

Do I need to complete The Injury Healing Code Course/s to be able to see you?

No. However, if I feel that their is an aspect of your injury or situation that may benefit from completing TIHC – I will recommend which module/s that you should complete. This is not required for all clients.

Please note, that if you are stuck in your recovery and it is determined that there is internal work that you need to complete via TIHC, then I will hold you accountable to completing this. If, despite my support and encouragement, that you continue to not hold yourself accountable for the deeper work, and where this is hindering your recovery, I may recommend a break from treatment, so that you can create the space in your life to complete this.

I am consulting out of a residential property in Aspendale. Address details will be given at the time of your booking.

What do I need to include in my email enquiry to you?

Please include any relevant information about your injury, condition or situation. The more I understand the better that I can determine our treatment plan and also whether I am the right therapist for you.

Details about your injury, how long you have had your injury, what you have currently tried for your injury are all beneficial to me. Please use our new client registration form on our website to register your details for physiotherapy.

Why do I need to email an enquiry prior to booking an appointment?

This is my method of screening whether we are a good fit to work with each other. I need to understand a brief background of your injury or condition, so that I can ensure that I can help you. This also helps me at our first appointment to set up an appropriate treatment plan with you.

How long should I expect to wait for an available appointment?

This can vary due to a number of factors. Generally, I have availability within 1 week of contacting me for an appointment.

I used to see you at Healthwise Physiotherapy, do I still need to enquire via email?

Yes. Even if I have seen you in the past, please enquire via email so that we can ensure that the services that I am now offering are the best fit for you.

I don’t really have an injury, but I have recurring pain and tightness in my neck, back or shoulders. Is this worth seeing you for?

100% yes. There is a lot that I can assist you with in order to understand your posture, your tightness and factors that may be contributing toward your pain or tightness. At times, it is understanding the bigger picture, and identifying and learning to understand your triggers, stresses, postures, and getting clear on what is causing your pain to recur.

Do you treat clients after hours?

No. My current hours of treatment are Mondays 9am-2.30pm, Tuesdays 8am-5pm, Wednesdays 8am-5pm and Fridays 9am-2.30pm.

Are you still working out of MHealth?

Yes. I am running a small number of clinical pilates classes out of MHealth on a Tuesday morning.

Other than this, I am focusing on integrating TIHC course content within my physiotherapy consultations, which is based out of an Aspendale location.

I continue to sustain a good working relationship with MHealth and their wonderful practitioners, and I continue to liase with and refer on where relevant.

Are you still seeing Women’s Health Physiotherapy Clients?

Yes, I am still treating Women’s Health Physiotherapy Clients, particularly if there is either an overlap with some musculoskeletal issues and/or stress or anxiety related factors. It is extremely common, for women in particular to have pelvic floor issues that are either the result of prior hip, back or pelvic pain, or alternatively hip, back, pelvic pain that has been caused from pelvic floor dysfunction.

It is vital, that when treating the pelvic floor, that we consider the movement patterning and strength of your hips, back and pelvis, including mobility, strength, patterning, control, shock absorption, timing, bowel habits, toileting habits, and the effects of stress.

Are you still taking Clinical Pilates Classes?

I have currently ceased taking Clinical Pilates Classes. I continue to prescribe and develop a very small number of 1:1 Clinical Pilates Programs for my existing clients. If this is discussed as a part of your strengthening or treatment plan, then after developing a substantial program to meet your needs, I will refer you on so that you can participate in classes and I will liase with your studio to assist implementation of your program.

I currently have an established relationship with MHealth and their wonderful physiotherapists where I refer on clients to their staff when they need Clinical Pilates to further assist their rehabilitation. I also liase with other local studios and gyms, so just discuss with me where it is that you will be attending.

Are you treating physiotherapy clients?
  • Yes, I am currently treating long standing hip, back and pelvic/SIJ issues, long standing neck pain and headaches as well as women’s health issues which often integrate with the external pelvis.
  • As my skillset is fairly niche, I am focusing on these areas that I treat best, so that I can help those who have been struggling with a longer term injury, who may have seen several other practitioners, or where their mindset may be getting in the way of their recovery.
  • This means that I am no longer treating acute sporting type injuries or injuries of the foot, ankle, knee, wrist, or elbow.
  • If you are a new or returning client, please contact us via email chloe@tihc.com.au with your enquiry and I can organise a consultation.
