Love Thyself and Learn To Heal Thyself!

I was recently scrolling through my social media account and found a blog that I had written in 2012 when I had began my healing journey from some significant medial issues and pain.

In 2012, I had no immediate intentions of starting a business. In fact at the time, I actually had no idea what the purpose of writing this blog was, other than to share my story and to spread the message of LOVE to help others to HEAL!

I have to share it, as although my professional and educational stance on this message has largely grown and developed since 2012, it is a humble reminder of where my message and desire to help others along their healing journey stems from!

Love Thyself and learn to Heal Thyself!

Nobody’s life is entire free from pain! This may be physical pain from injury or illness, or it may be emotional pain and suffering from injury, illness, personal loss, financial struggle, stress, or relationship breakdown.

These are all examples of suffering! We cannot avoid all forms of suffering in life! In fact, suffering is a very normal part of life… it just takes its various forms. Life is meant to be ever-changing! Life is meant to be full of lessons and these can at times be challenging!

Suffering, however, does not always have to be so consuming. A large part of the suffering that we experience is self-created through self-pity, blame, shame, helplessness and at times a negative frame of mind.

This helplessness, self-pity or shame cycle will stem from our own values of self worth. It stems from behaviours and values that have been conditioned through our childhood, our experiences and throughout our entire life. We have often been conditioned to feel sorry for ourselves or to criticise and to judge ourselves. We are very seldom taught to love ourselves! I’m not talking in a vain manner, but to love and respect every part of ourselves – our body, our thoughts, our personality and all of our kooky traits!

People who love themselves and their bodies neither abuse themselves nor others!”

These are the wise words taken from Louse Hays’ ‘You Can Heal Your Life’. My take on this [back in 2012, as this has largely developed since], is that if you truly loved yourself, then why would you choose to wallow in self pity? Why would you remain in a state of unhappiness, pain and suffering? You are only further strengthening your perception and experience of pain. If you can learn to respect and to listen to your body, your emotions and everything that you are experiencing or feeling, you will eventually learn to love yourself.

With love for thyself, you will learn to diminish a lot of the pain and suffering in your life. In fact, if you can learn to LOVE thyself, you will learn to HEAL thyself! With the right mindset, you can free yourself from the emotional pain and suffering that is associated with chronic injuries and illness.

Learn to ACCEPT, RESPECT and LOVE thyself! You will therefore HEAL thyself!
